Jamie Britt served on the Board of Directors for the South Gwinnett Athletic Association was a Past President of the South Gwinnett Touchdown Club, and remained active in the Tipoff Club. He passed away in 2013 and is fondly remembered by the community for his service to the students at South Gwinnett. He graduated from South in 1982 and remained loyal to his alma mater.
The 2014 golf tournament is one of the biggest fundraising opportunities provided by the SGHS Touchdown Club. “We have 100% participation in our Touchdown Club,” says Coach Small. By offering opportunities for fundraising, the kids are able to fund their participation in what is often an expensive activity. “We have great kids here who know the value of giving back to their community,” says Coach Small. “They are preparing to become the future leaders of our town.” Coach Small believes Snellville to be a great place to grow up, play sports, learn and give back. “It takes strong leaders like Jamie Britt to show our kids how to give back to the community that supported their education.”
South Gwinnett Alumni Don Britt talks fondly of Jamie Britt as a strong community leader. “Jamie was a member here at Summit Chase and good friend,” says Don. “He loved to play golf and it is wonderful to see the Touchdown Club honor him by renaming the tournament.”
Both Coach Small and Summit Chase’s Don Britt would like to extend a special invitation to all South Gwinnett High School Alumni to participate in this year’s very special golf tournament, renamed in memory of one of their own.
The tournament will take place on Monday, April 21, 2014.
