Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson declared August 11th as Safe Digging Day in the City of Lawrenceville as a part of the National 811 Notification System.
The Federal Communications Commission designated the nationwide phone number 811 to provide contractors and homeowners a simple number to contact utility operators to request the location of underground lines at the intended dig site.
To celebrate the proclaimed Safe Digging Day, the City of Lawrenceville’s Damage Prevention and Gas Departments hosted the Mayor, along with City Manager Bob Baroni, Assistant City Manager Steve North, and the GA 811 mascot Digger Dog.
