The Honorary Grand Marshal is Marine Cpl. Jarred Duncan, USMC, Medically Retired. Cpl. Duncan, who lives near Loganville, suffered a traumatic brain injury serving his country in Afghanistan in 2011. Duncan was part of the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marines when an ied (improvised explosive device) destroyed a vehicle he was riding in. An ’05 graduate of Grayson High School, Jarred and his wife Lauren have a daughter, Sophia, 2. Cpl. Duncan is currently receiving treatment from the VA and is part of Wounded Warrior Battalion East out of Camp Lejeune, N.C. Prior to serving tours in Afghanistan, Cpl. Duncan served as part of the relief force sent to Haiti following the earthquake of 2010.
Food, beverages, music and door prizes/drawings will be waiting for participants when the ride finishes at St. Olivers located in the Summit Chase subdivision east of Snellville. Participation in the fundraiser is $25/rider and $5/passenger. All proceeds will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project as part of a month of activities at St. Olivers dedicated benefitting the Project.
The ride will depart at 10 a.m. from the legion post, located at 4635 Atlanta Hwy. (US 78), Loganville.
