Members of the LWC provide refreshments and will be supporting the Prime Time reading program every Monday evening for the next 5 weeks. Prime Time Family Reading provides an opportunity for at risk low-literacy families to gather for a light meal and listen to trained storytellers read diverse stories from around the world. Then they lead the families in open discussions about the stories that they’ve just heard. The ultimate goal is to foster a love of books and to strengthen family bonding among the participants.
•Prime Time is hosted by local libraries once a week for six weeks.

•Trained storytellers read diverse stories from around the world.
•University professors lead families in lively discussions based on the texts using humanities themes such as greed, courage, and fairness.
•Programs are often conducted in Spanish and English.
