Madison Darsey gets a jump start on her future

Wesleyan student Madison Darsey, is getting a jump start on her future.

The Peachtree Corners teen attended The Pediatric 2040 Conference in January. It was an opportunity to explore her interest in Pediatrics. During the four day conference in California, Darsey listened to some incredible lectures, including one by Dr. Patrick Soon Shiong

who discovered one of the current life-saving medicines for breast cancer – he also discovered some of the major pieces of the puzzle for the new future of cancer therapy, immunotherapy.

Darsey also had the opportunity to work in the International Children’s Advisory Booth during PEDS 2040. A Pediatric Immunologist even sat down with the junior for an extended period of time to explain immunology in a one-on-one conversation. Madison interacted with several leaders in children’s healthcare.

The Pediatrics 2040 Conference is an incredible opportunity for our young scientists and Wesleyan is thrilled Madison had the opportunity to participate.
