The health fair is Friday, November 13, 2015, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This event is designed to provide basic health service and information to underserved individuals living in the Norcross area.
The health fair, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the gymnasium at Meadowcreek High. There will be more than 20 information booths, as well as free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, diabetes, bone density, blood glucose, HIV/AIDS. In addition, there will be free toxic-chemicals-testing on toys, cosmetics, and household items. Attendees of the health fair will have the opportunity to enroll in a health coverage plan. There also will be activities for children, door prizes, and more.
The health fair was a collaborative effort organized by the following faculty members at Meadowcreek High School: Dr. Kevin Wood, associate principal, Dr. Alfred Porter, career academy specialist, and Mrs. Lynette Aponte, community outreach specialist.
