“Maintaining the old sirens required more and more work each year,” said Public Works Director Audrey Turner.
Mobile Communications of Gwinnett installed the siren in this first location to replace an outdated version. They won the bid to replace the old sirens which are used to inform residents of severe weather alerts.
The bid total was $103,268.000. The remaining three sirens will be installed in the next couple of weeks. The City of Duluth is excited to continue to provide a safe community for residents.
