The Governor’s Mansion is the official home of Georgia’s 82nd Governor, Nathan Deal, and his wife, Sandra.
Many of the furnishings in the house are considered to be of museum quality and make up one of the finest Federal Period collections in the United States. The knowledgeable Docents from the Chi Omega Alumni Chapter in Atlanta gave excellent background and descriptions of each room’s treasures.
Books and ornaments are offered for purchase at the Mansion to help with the restoration, maintenance and preservation of the Mansion and its furnishings. Many of the attendees supported the Friends of the Mansion by purchasing items.
After the tour, the chapter’s luncheon meeting was held at the Swan Coach House.
Attending were 40 Philadelphia Winn Chapter members along with nine prospective or pending members and seven guests for this special chapter meeting.
The May meeting for the Philadelphia Winn Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, will be held at Ashton Hall Senior Living, Lawrenceville, Georgia on Sunday, May 17th at 1:00 PM. A salad luncheon and silent auction will be held and chapter achievement awards will be announced. The silent auction begins at 11:00 AM.
