He worked for Service Corporation International for 42 years with stops in Florida and Georgia, most recently as the General Manager of Eternal Hills Funeral home and Memory Gardens. Earnie was a member of the Snellville Lions Club, the VFW, the American Legion, Teen Challenge Board Member, Georgia Cemetery Board Member and Georgia State Funeral Committee. Survivors include his wife June Poynter of Snellville, daughter Hannah Bethany Poynter of Snellville, sister Mae Dean Rindal and husband Bill, nephew Joe Lott and niece Millie Lott. Visitation was on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services were on Friday, November 20, 2015, in the Eternal Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
