The Georgia Thespians had Parkview High teacher Sharon Morrow come from behind stage and take a bow as she was named the 2014 Theatre Arts Educator of the Year.
Ms. Morrow became a Parkview High panther in 1985 as an English teacher after a brief stint in Memphis. She also served Shiloh High (1986-1990) as a drama teacher before returning to Parkview as a language arts, drama, music, and theatre arts teacher. Her recognition as “Educator of the Year” recognizes her appreciation for the arts, dedication to her students, and her multi-decade service to student artists in Gwinnett County.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Ms. Morrow has served fine arts education by acting as a school sponsor for One-Act Play, a judge for the Governor’s Honors Program, and a co-chair for the department of fine arts at Parkview High.
The Gwinnett County Board of Education recognized Ms. Morrow earlier this spring, celebrating her long teaching career.
Ms. Morrow earned her bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Christian Brothers College and also holds a master’s degree in Education from Lesley University.
