Towne Green project on track, city officials calling for construction bids

SNELLVILLE – The city is accepting construction bids for the Towne Green project, a sign dirt will be moving soon on the property in upgrade in front of City Hall.

Construction is expected to begin later this year with completion scheduled before the city’s annual Beach Blast in May. 

Proposals will be received by the city Planning and Development Office on Sept. 4.

The project now includes a labyrinth in the area surrounding the Veterans Memorial.

The project consists of improvements to the Towne Green and realignment of curb, gutter and sidewalk.  

Other improvements include:
Construction of a low sitting wall and entrance wall.
Preparation and landscape installation.
Installation of several brick paver areas.
Installation of a traffic table and signage.
Major electrical improvements.
Realignment of curb, gutter and sidewalk.

The project was delayed in February after bids for the project came in over budget.

A pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at City Hall, 2342 Oak Road, in Conference Room 145. Proposers are encourage to attend.
