We have been in the top 20 fundraising teams at the event for the past 10 years.
This year, we decided to do a fundraiser for students and teachers to try to “Stick it to Cancer”. For $1 teachers, students and staff could participate by helping tape up our principal, Mr. Chatham. He stayed on the wall during the school’s lunch on Friday, February 19th. It worked! We raised about $350 for our Relay for Life Team. I’m sure next year will be even more successful! Relay for Life is a fantastic event. It’s an overnight event where teams come together to raise money for the American Cancer Society. When we relay, we don’t sleep all night because cancer never sleeps. Our Relay for Life team is made of teachers and students in our school. Gwinnett’s Relay for Life is the largest relay in the World! This year’s Relay for Life takes place on Friday, May 13-14th at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds. If you’d like to know more, please visit the Gwinnett Relay for Life website.
