“Downtown businesses are the heartbeat of economic development in local communities,” said Lisa Sherman, Director of Economic & Community Development for the City of Lawrenceville. “Their collective growth generates annual economic impact in Georgia equivalent to that of one KIA plant project. To celebrate them with this awards program is the least we can do for what they contribute to our community.”
The Golden Hammer Awards are an annual event hosted by the City of Lawrenceville with an open nomination process. Winners are determined based a variety of criteria as determined by the Lawrenceville Tourism & Trade Association board, which is comprised of business and residential leaders throughout the community.
