Vietnam Vets honored by County and Philadelphia Winn DAR

This year marked the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, and Gwinnett County’s Veterans Day Tribute was an official homecoming welcome for Vietnam War Veterans. Held at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial located at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the program highlighted a symbolic return march home in which the veterans received a standing ovation. Once they assembled, a ceremonial yellow ribbon was cut in their honor.  Sergeant Major Patrick C. Amos delivered the keynote speech.

The ceremony is always held on the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month in accordance with Armistice Day of World War I in 1918. Refreshments were provided by the Philadelphia Winn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
