The reunion began in 1925 and reunited hundreds of Williams relatives living in Georgia and all over the southeast. Initially the gathering was in the spacious chestnut oak grove in Snellville. Tables were built between the trees to accommodate the delicious covered dish food brought to feed the large crowds. To add to the days enjoyment, after lunch there were beauty contests and a hog calling contest.
