As she enters the competition, Landress will bring her skills as a clarinet player for the talent portion before participating in a social impact statement and evening gown and on-stage interview. The top ten contestants for the Miss Mississippi crown will be announced June 22nd, and Landress looks to her home town to rally her on as she pursues her dream!
Reigning Miss Northland Christana Landress stands in a school to discuss the topic of severe weather through her platform “Eyes on the Sky”.After graduating from Buford High School, Landress proceeded to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Currently, she is working towards a master’s in Professional Meteorology and Climatology at Mississippi State and works in the university’s Geosciences Department. This career path inspired Landress to create a personal platform called “Eyes on the Sky”. She was crowned Miss Northland in an MS pageant last year, and during her reign, Landress has worked to bring awareness to severe weather by partnering with Eight Days of Hope and the National Weather Service in Jackson, MS. Additionally, in the past six months, Landress has visited over ten classrooms to discuss the topic of severe weather and conducted relief work in the wake of Hurricane Michael and Florence.
During her reign as Miss Northland, Landress has filled Miss America platforms in both Georgia and Mississippi and through the Children’s Miracle Network. She successfully directed her first Miss Miracle of the South pageant having over 29 participants. The pageant raised $1,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network and Eight Days of Hope.
