“We are proud of our Linemen and electric staff and grateful to them for the excellent level of service they provide day in and day out,” said Chuck Warbington, Lawrenceville City Manager. “Lawrenceville works hard to ensure our residents have the infrastructure they need to live comfortably and we could not do it without our dedicated crews. We appreciate them every day and especially in April of every year.”
City of Lawrenceville Electric Department employees not only take care of our utility customers in need, but they also help out our neighbors in surrounding communities in need. When natural disasters hit and leave communities without power, the City of Lawrenceville Electric Department is happy to offer mutual aid. In September 2018, Kelvin Standifer (lineman) and Keith Davis (lineman), Cole Cantrell (groundsman), and Kyle Cain (apprentice lineman), traveled to Thomasville, Georgia to help restore power where three substations and 20 mainline circuits were out due to storm damage from Hurricane Michael.
Every year, Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG), a non-profit organization serving public power members like Lawrenceville in Georgia, joins together with other Georgia Electric Utilities to create greater awareness of and express gratitude for these special men and women. Lawrenceville’s recognition on April 8 comes just ahead of the nationally designated date for Lineman Appreciation of April 18. The City encourages residents and businesses to share in this appreciation on April 18 and post a note of thanks on their social media outlets.
