Since then, they’ve provided over 400 pairs of shoes for children in the Gwinnett County Department of Family Children’s Services (DFCS).
This year, in partnership with Sports Authority in Buford, Georgia, the nearly 5-year old congregation plans to raise $21,000 to provide 700 pairs of athletic shoes for youth in DFCS to jumpstart the new school year! They have also partnered with the Lebone Children’s Center in Grahmstown, South Africa to supply new shoes to youth abroad.
“We’re simply doing what God has called us to do as a church, and as a community – serve others (Matthew 25:35-36),” states Victorious’ Pastor, Marlon Allen.
On Saturday, July 25, Victorious will “take over” the Buford Sports Authority to provide a unique shopping experience for the children in DFCS. “It’s amazing to see the smiles on the kid’s faces when they’re able to pick out a brand new pair of shoes for the school year. It’s something we so easily take for granted,” says Pastor Allen. Victorious invites the community to take part in this special event by donating on-site at Sports Authority (1705 Mall of Georgia Blvd., Marketplace at Millcreek, Buford, GA 30519) on July 25, or online.
