The firm is that of former Attorney General Mike Bowers. Christopher S. Anulewicz, a partner in the firm, has been assigned to the city.
Balch & Bingham, which lists government affairs as one of its specialties, replaces Tony Powell after a recent Supreme Court ruling clarifying mayoral authority to appoint and remove the city attorney unilaterally. Anulewicz and Powell met recently to discuss the transition.
“I am honored to be selected as the new city attorney for Snellville,” Anulewicz said. “I hope to provide clear and unvarnished direction on legal issues facing Snellville, and in doing so, represent the collective interests of Snellville’s citizens. I look forward to working with the city of Snellville’s mayor, council, and their dedicated professional staff.”
Anulewicz said he will be assisted by others in his office including Righton Johnson and Josh Moore.
