The hospital’s new program is designed to address the current shortage of physicians in family medicine in the north metro community. The program is supported by GMC’s Board of Directors, Georgia Board of Regents, Georgia Physicians Task Force and The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
The Strickland Family Medicine Center will offer a range of educational opportunities for the residents who will treat newborns to seniors, and also offer maternity care. The new 9,400 square foot facility features 10 exam rooms and two rooms are equipped for procedures. Graduate medical education faculty will work alongside the residents at the center to provide exceptional patient care. The Strickland Family Medicine Center will include access to electronic health records for physicians, ultrasound and video colposcopy equipment, and amenities such as a private group counseling room where families and physicians can comfortably discuss treatment options, among others.
