Local Lion participates in Peach Bowl Parade

Lion Grace Clower, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation and member of the Snellville Lions Club was one of the Lions dignitaries riding the Lions Clubs International float in the Peach Bowl Parade in downtown Atlanta New Year’s Eve.

Lions Clubs International was the presenting sponsor of the Peach Bowl Parade.  The parade’s Grand Marshal was Lions Clubs International First Vice-President Chancellor Bob Corlew of Milton, Tennessee.  Lions from all over Georgia marched in the parade also.

The Peach Bowl was originally founded in 1968 by a Lion, Past International Director George Crumbley of the Atlanta Lions Club, as a fundraiser for the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation.  The Peach Bowl is college football’s most charitable bowl game.  The Peach Bowl continues a donation each year to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation that will help the Lighthouse provide vision and hearing services to Georgians in need.  The Lighthouse also conducted vision screenings for fans at the FanFest event on game day and will be screening students in Atlanta public elementary and middle schools over the next few months.

The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization dedicated to providing vision and hearing services for needy Georgians by partnering with over 300 healthcare professionals all over Georgia.  These professionals provide vision screenings, education, complex vision surgeries, and digital hearing aids.  To learn more, visit: www.lionslighthouse.org
