Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days of the event, attendees can expect to find exciting equestrian and sheep shearing demonstrations; a “pop up” market from the Georgia Farmers Market Association featuring fresh eggs, local honey and produce at the peak of harvest; raised bed gardening workshop; a fleet of food trucks; bouncy fun in the Kidzone for the little ones; an appearance from Mayfield Dairy’s Maggie the Cow; truck demos from Hayes Automotive Group; and a slew of excellent speakers – including Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Agriculture, Gary W. Black and Friday afternoon’s keynote speaker – The Georgia Gardener, Walter Reeves.
The two-day Expo is hosted by the Upper Ocmulgee River RC&D Council, Inc. along with a number of dedicated partners that include Georgia Organics; SARA, University of Georgia; TAG, Global Growers; Athens Land & Trust; Gwinnett Tech; Georgia Grown; USDA-NRCS; Georgia Department of Agriculture; USDA- FSA; Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission; GA EPD- Game and Wildlife Division; Georgia Forestry Commission; and Georgia Farmers Market Association.
