Norcross Art Splash, now in its 14th year, will return to historic downtown on October 7 and 8, 2017. The festivities will run from October 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and October 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The exciting festival of the arts draws crowds of 50,000 festival goers each year, and the charming downtown streets of historic Norcross create the perfect backdrop for the colorful artists’ displays. The charismatic area is known for its enchanting shops and eateries – and of course, the train, which rambles along the tracks saying “hello” to visitors and neighbors.
“The City of Norcross and art go hand-in-hand, and as such we are thrilled to welcome back Norcross Art Splash,” said City of Norcross Mayor Bucky Johnson. “As an important element of our quality of life and the local economy, we look forward to celebrating the arts in Norcross.”
Described as whimsical and the “show with personality,” Norcross Art Splash is more than just an artist market, it is a way to give back to the community and support an important quality of life factor. “With a significant portion of the proceeds from Norcross Art Splash made available for purposes of supporting art and education within the City of Norcross, the artist market is a great way to celebrate local artists as well as the community and volunteers,” said Cindy Flynn, Art Splash producer.
Attending Norcross Art Splash is the ideal way to welcome in the fall season, especially with artisans from across the country showing off their talents. The show is filled with folk art, ceramics, paintings, photography mixed media, fiber art, metalwork, and of course, jewelry…lots of sparkly bling! In addition to the artist market, the lively Kidz Zone awaits children of all ages with face painting, sand art, inflatables and energetic rides. Continuous entertainment on Thrasher Park’s intimate stage wows listeners each year with oldies, blues, jazz and musical surprises. The fantastic food row always draws hungry shoppers with its large variety of tasty treats.
The true superstars of Art Splash are the volunteers who treat all of the visitors as welcomed guests—these generous people are the reason Norcross Art Splash will continue to be a part of the City of Norcross – ‘A Place to Imagine.’ For more information on volunteering, visit http://norcross.splashfestivals.com/.
