Parks and Recreation celebrates Jones Bridge Park renovations

Lawrenceville – Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation celebrated the completion of renovations to Jones Bridge Park with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday. The renovations included a new 840-square-foot restroom building and 860-square-foot pavilion near the playground.

Improvements to Jones Bridge Park were celebrated March 6, 2018, with a ribbon cutting. Improvements include a new pavilion and new bathroom facilities. The project was paid for with SPLOST revenue.

District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard said Jones Bridge Park is the heartbeat of the Peachtree Corners community, offering fishing, hiking, soccer fields, a community room and now a new pavilion.

“Jones Bridge Park does what public spaces are supposed to do,” Howard said. “It brings people of all ages together, accommodates a multitude of interests and events and provides opportunities for exercise, relaxation and entertainment. But most of all, it brings together people of all ages and cultures to build a stronger community.”

New sidewalk and stairs were also added to connect to the parking lot, playground and other park amenities. Funding for these renovations was provided by the 2014 SPLOST program.

Jones Bridge Park is located at 4901 East Jones Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners. For more information about Gwinnett County parks and upcoming events, visit www.gwinnettparks.com.
