In addition to past years’ classifications—Antique Classics, Foreign Sports, Hotrods, 1972 & Older Muscles, Post 1972 Muscles, Pickups, and Jeeps/Off-road Vehicles, this year includes Super Exotic Sports Cars. Professional judges will evaluate all cars for first-to-third prizes in each category. One people’s choice winner will be chosen by popular vote among attendees. All prizes will be awarded during a closing ceremony. By participating in the show, all exhibitors will receive goodie bags and automatic entry in a raffle for prizes.
Also hosting a 50:50 raffle, Duluth Rotary will sell tickets for $1 each. To better their odds, people may purchase a strip of tickets that measure a car’s length for a flat rate of $20. Duluth Rotary will split the money collected with the lucky winner, who will be announced and must be present around 2:00 p.m. at the closing ceremony. The club will also sell car show tee shirts and refreshments, and the many restaurants and shops within walking distance will be open for business.
Duluth Rotary encourages participants to register in advance (online or by mail) by visiting DuluthRotaryEvents.org/Car-Show/. Entries will be accepted on the day of the show between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. as space permits. The cost to exhibit per car is $20 through Friday, April 12, and $25 on Saturday, April 13. Entrants need to arrive between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Event sponsorships are also available.
All proceeds benefit charitable causes, primarily Duluth-based Operation One Voice—a 501(c) (3) nonprofit that assists wounded and fallen Special Operations Forces and their families, giving 97 cents of every dollar raised to those impacted.
As Duluth Rotary’s Car Show chair, Mark Tyrrell says, “We have such a great time every year, and the show continues to grow in popularity. If you’re interested in showing a car, I encourage you to to secure your spot. Also, if you haven’t been to downtown Duluth lately, you’re in for a pleasant surprise. There’s so much to do!”
