The 2014 Run the Reagan plans are in full swing for the day-long family celebration and race. According to their website, www.RuntheReagan.org, the race planners have the support of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, Gwinnett County Department of Transportation and the City of Snellville to close the Ronald Reagan Parkway.

This year marked the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, and Gwinnett County’s Veterans Day Tribute was an official homecoming welcome for Vietnam War Veterans. Held at the Gwinnett Fallen Heroes Memorial located at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia, the program highlighted a symbolic return march home in which the veterans received a standing ovation. Once they assembled, a ceremonial yellow ribbon was cut in their honor.  Sergeant Major Patrick C. Amos delivered the keynote speech.
