Karyn Greer to speak at GGC spring commencement

Karyn Greer, Emmy award-winning news anchor for the 11Alive Morning News, will be the featured speaker at Georgia Gwinnett College's spring commencement. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., May 15, on the main campus lawn.

Winners -Students from Brookwood and Central Gwinnett high schools took part in the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Shark Tank. Three student business were nominated to take part in the event finals May 7. Snellville - Once again budding high school entrepreneurs pitched their businesses to make their dreams come true. Gwinnett County high school students took part in a Shark Tank Wednesday and Thursday, pitching their business plan to win award start-up money and the right to compete for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Shark Tank title.

Gwinnett County Chairman Charlotte Nash to Serve as ACCG First Vice President

ATLANTA – Governor Nathan Deal joined county officials from across the state at the 100th annual conference of ACCG, Georgia’s county association, held April 11-15 at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. In addition to giving the centennial keynote address, he also installed the association’s 2014-2015 Board of Managers. Gwinnett County Chairman Charlotte Nash was sworn in as ACCG First Vice President and will serve as part of the association’s 40-member Board of Managers for the next year. She is slated to become the association’s next president in April 2015.

GCPL and Norcross High School team up for MakerCamp

Norcross - Coming in June, the Gwinnett County Public Library, in partnership with Norcross High School, will host the first “MakerCamp” for Gwinnett students. MakerCamp introduces students to practical -- and fun -- hands on learning through the use of computer-aided design software and a MakerBot 3D printer.
