Classes Connect Cultural Heritage and Healthy Eating

Norcross – Norcross Community Market, in partnership with Summerour Middle School and Boston-based food and nutrition nonprofit Oldways, is bringing “A Taste of African Heritage” community cooking classes to Norcross this summer. The six-class series will take place from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays from June 4 through July 16, excluding July 2, at Summerour Middle School, 321 Price Place, in Norcross.

As the last bell rings for the 2017–18 school year, 522 veteran educators and support staff members will mark their retirement from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). In total, our 2017–18 retirees have contributed a collective 12,813 years of their lives to education, and a total of 10,204 years to Gwinnett schoolchildren.

Lanier High is one of 46 schools from around the nation awarded the Green Ribbon designation, which recognizes schools and districts that exercise a comprehensive approach to creating “green” environments by reducing environmental impact, promoting health, and ensuring a high-quality environmental and outdoor education for students.
