New rankings rank 10 Gwinnett high schools among top in state and nation

Gwinnett School of Mathematics Science and Technology (GSMST) heads a list of 10 Gwinnett County public high schools named among the best in the state and nation. U.S. News & World Report ranked the more than 20,500 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Schools were awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates, and how well they prepare students for college. Of the Georgia schools ranked in 2018 as U.S. News Best High Schools, 16 were awarded gold medals, 48 earned silver medals and 43 received bronze medals.

Three Gwinnett schools cracked the top-25 list in Georgia with GSMST ranked as the best high school in Georgia and the 31st best in the United States. North Gwinnett High School is listed as the 13th best high school in the state and 416th nationally. And Brookwood High School garnered the 23rd spot on the Georgia list and is 685th in the nation.
