Psst….can we talk

Coco Chanel had it right when she said, “The best color in the world is the one that looks good on you.”

Is it passionate purple, shocking pink, radiant red? Perhaps beautiful blonde is your jam. Trust me when I say “go for it!” Just go the best way for your hair and your wallet. Believe it or not your hair remembers. It remembers the damage from chemicals, heat and poor product you may have used. A healthy hair plan is a must for summer if you wish to maximize the results from your next hair appointment, and not waste your time or your hair’s integrity. Be wise when spending money on expensive deep conditioners that don’t work or harsh chemicals that could be more damaging than helpful.

The first step to any problem is to identify it; How is your hairs porosity (porosity is the hairs ability to absorb and hold onto things such as color and water)? The more porous your hair the more likely your color will fade fast. Pay attention as your hair may be giving you signals such as how long does it take for your hair to get completely wet in the shower? Is it absorbing the water immediately? If it’s taking some time to saturate your hair, it is most likely porous. What about blow drying? Does your hair dry quick and frizzy? Porous hair is unable to hold onto water and the products you are applying. Healthy hair will take more time to dry.

If your hair is damaged from multiple chemicals, heat and/or poor products, it is full of holes that need to be filled up with healthy treatments before hair color will last. This can be done with Keratin or bond multipliers.

Once your hair is healthy again it will be ready to accept new color, hold vibrancy, shine and be less frizzy.

So if you hair could talk it would probably tell you that in this day and age there is no excuse for bad or sad hair. Trained professionals are available and with some help from a talented hair stylist your hair will be showing the love in no time. HAVE A GREAT HAIR DAY!
