Dr. Kim Robson

Kim Robson has performed on stages across the United States. As a soprano, she appeared as Sarah in the world premiere of Out of the Rain at Opera Delaware, plus Miss Wordsworth in Albert Herring; Gianetta in L’Elisir d’Amore; Lucy in The Telephone; Amelia in Amelia Goes to the Ball; and toured the nation with American Family Theatre’s Beauty and the Beast. Locally, she is the soprano section leader and occasional flutist at St. David’s Church in Wayne, PA. Kim is Assistant Professor of Music at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where she directs the music program and conducts the choir, chamber choir, wind ensembles, and jazz band. This year at GA Music Camp, Kim will conduct a vocal ensemble class, a component that is new to our curriculum.

Dr. KimGA Music Camp was founded as the Northeast Georgia Summer Guitar Camp in the summer of 2012 by Buford, GA based classical guitarist Derwyn Browne. In 2017, to reflect its wider scope, it was renamed The GA Music Camp. Serving only 5 campers the first year, the camp has grown steadily to a current capacity of 25-30 campers. The guitar remains the primary focus of the camp, but the curriculum has expanded to include flute and vocal performance, all presented with an emphasis on ensemble performance.

The GA Music Camp, running from June 4-8 at St Mary & St Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church, is designed to introduce beginners to the guitar and enhance the skills of those already playing. Campers, between the ages of 7 and 17, who are beginning or ongoing guitar students, are eligible to enroll. Beginning students will be provided with a guitar to use for the week of camp. At the end of the week, they will have the option to purchase that guitar. Information about the camp is available from the GA Music Camp Office at 476-266-1425 or online at http://www.gamusiccamp.com.
