Gwinnett Animal Shelter: A welcoming place to find a furry friend

This month I’m pleased to report that the Gwinnett Animal Shelter continues to transform. Management of the facility moved from the police department to community services in April 2017. The staff is now led by Alan Davis and two deputy directors, Vern Sawyer and Chandler Giddes. The news below is from an update they presented to the Board of Commissioners recently.

Adopt your new best friend at Gwinnett Animal Shelter this April with reduced adoption fees

Lawrenceville – April is National Animal Control Officer Appreciation Month and includes National Pet Parents Day (April 29), Adopt a Shelter Pet Day (April 30), and National Hairball Awareness Day (April 25). In recognition of those special occasions and to honor our dedicated animal control officers, the Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement Division has cut adoption fees to $45 for dogs.
