Make a Plan to Quit Tobacco for Good

Smoke-free Living Saves Lives 

ATLANTA – Tobacco use is the No. 1 preventable cause of death in Georgia. Thursday, Nov. 16, is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout. By quitting, even for just one day, or using the day to make a plan to quit, smokers will be taking an important step toward a healthier life.

Real men wear pink

October is Breast Cancer Month and several concerned men in Gwinnett are looking “pretty in pink” to show their support. They are doing it by joining efforts with Real Men Wear Pink to raise awareness and funds for the 2016 American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC).

David Barnes, a professor of biology at Georgia Gwinnett College, received the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) at the 2014 World Forum on Biology, held recently in Savannah.
