Black Friday, traditionally the single busiest shopping day of the year, arrives a little earlier this year, with many stores already advertising Black Friday prices.
A well-meaning girlfriend asked me last week if I wanted to do a little Black Friday shopping with her. I smiled and fumbled for a plausible excuse to take a pass; I figured telling her, “I’d rather have holes drilled in my teeth” might sound a little over-the-top.
Black Friday. What comes to mind: Bargains? Crowds? Mayhem? All of the above? My guess is Black Friday doesn’t conjure up thoughts like “soft” and “cuddly” but, Gwinnett County is changing that.
