Note: This is a version of a piece I wrote in 2013, just a few months before my father passed away at 93 years of age. I thought, in light of present circumstances, it might deserve another look. I have added a few more thoughts, three years after his death. If any of you is caring for an aging (originally written in January 2013)
Lawrenceville – There’s a movement going on in Gwinnett County, one that asks men to stand up and fight for life. Every year, 1.2 million abortions take place in the United States; in 2015, more than 7,000 took place in Gwinnett County alone.
I have a girlfriend, a very dear girlfriend, and we’ve known each other for years (nearly 25 years, as a matter of fact, oh my!). She is the kind of woman I always aspired to be – beautiful, genuinely kind, gracious, and even-tempered.
On September 20th, the Amanda Riley Foundation will celebrate 6 years of serving children diagnosed with cancer, and their families.
Duluth – The 1941 death of little 6-year-old Olin Burnette, while tragically painful for his parents, was certainly not in vain. His passing stirred a small group of people to action, their goal to build a much-needed hospital in the heart of Duluth.
(Not So) Common Sense
Perfume. Eau de Parfum. Eau de Toilette. Eau de Cologne. These beautiful, fancy French words name types of scents or rather, they name the strengths of fine scents.

Norcross – Some businesses measure success by the bottom line only, yet others gauge success by both profitability and by their contribution to the communities that support them.
Pinckneyville Park in Norcross is a fine example of the best that Gwinnett Parks have to offer. The 58-acre park offers baseball and softball fields, a pond, a walking trail, a dog park, a skate park with ramps, pavilions and a roller hockey/skating rink.
