Does God open and close doors?

I hear people say all the time, “God opened a door for me.” Or, “God closed a door for us.”  Does God really open and close doors to show us His will for our lives?

Bethany Baptist Church quilt donation

A few friends gathered around an old keepsake at Bethany Baptist Church the other day.  A touch of years gone by and recollections of baptisms and preachers and old friends was shared freely among the group as they looked at the quilt that was donated to the church in April of 2016.

My sister, Vada Timberlake, my wife, Jeannie, and I returned in late June from a week in South Korea .  We were there at the invitation of Sae Eden Presbyterian Church in Seoul, which is the largest congregation in Korea.

Charles Max Mount, Sr., age 75 of Lawrenceville passed away Mon., July 18, 2016. Max is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Mount; daughter and son in law, Starla and Andrew David; sons and daughter in law, Max Mount, Jr., and Marc and Pam Mount; 1 sister, Teresa Harrison; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great grandson.

As a small boy growing up in South Mississippi, I spent the majority of my summer vacations shirtless and shoeless.  We only had three channels of the TV and video games had yet to be invented (I’m old.), so I was pretty much outside from dawn to dusk.
