Johnsa Retires as City Manager in Lilburn

After 14 years with the City of Lilburn, City Manager Bill Johnsa has decided to retire.

MASSIVE TIRE DUMP – The City of Lilburn made history during the spring by becoming the first local government in Gwinnett County to utilize the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) program helping property owners clean up and remove illegal tire dumps. Back in April, an estimated 3,000 passenger car tires were found illegally dumped on property behind the shopping center at 4805 Lawrenceville Highway. Police used surveillance and motion cameras in the apprehension of the suspects in the act of dumping. The City was able to help the property managers/owners by applying for funding under the EPD’s Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement (STAR) program. (Gwinnett Citizen Photo by Randy Louis Cox)

It’s all cleaned up now, but back in the spring, there was a huge illegal tire dump in the City of Lilburn.

Gateway Monument coming to Lilburn

Motorists traveling along Highway 29 will soon have a new gateway monument welcoming them to the City of Lilburn. Construction began last week on a twenty-five foot tall gateway monument being installed at the corner of Pleasant Hill Road and Highway 29.
