Art Exhibit in Norcross with Statewide Interest

The city of Norcross and Kudzu Art Zone are presenting an exhibit in a new venue for the Kudzu Art Zone’s Juried Open Show, The Rectory, which is a restored building from the early 1900s and served as the rectory for the church that now houses the Lionheart Theater. The show was open to any Georgia artist and juror Paula Linder, the assistant director of Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, chose an excellent, eclectic group of works for the show.

Norcross – Norcross Community Market has announced that it was selected to receive an AgSouth Farm Credit farmers market support grant in the amount of $500. The market was one of fifty markets throughout AgSouth’s territory in Georgia and South Carolina to receive a portion of $25,000 in total grant funds. The grant will be used for advertising and promotion of the venue.

Norcross – The Easter Bunny is hopping his way to downtown Norcross for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m. As long as there is no peeking, the Easter Bunny will be hiding all of his eggs in Rossie Brundage Park, 350 Autry Street.

City of Norcross to Host Clean-Up Day on April 14

One-day event to include electronics recycling, document shredding and collection of non-hazardous items

Norcross – As winter makes its exit, it’s time to get started on a little spring cleaning. A time to clean and purge items in our homes and neighborhoods. To help keep Norcross ‘clean and beautiful,’ the City of Norcross is pleased to host a Neighborhood Clean-up & Recycling Day on Saturday, April 14th where residents can bring in documents to be securely shredded, haul in non-hazardous bulk items, and recycle electronics.

The City of Norcross is excited to announce a collaboration with Taste of Britain and the Drake School of Irish Dance to bring you the first-ever St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Norcross on March 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The entirety of S. Peachtree Street will be closed to accommodate the festivities.

Florence Warbington Green’s original painting is on loan for an extended period of time to the City of Norcross, and a Dedication Ceremony will take place prior to the Historic Cemetery Tour on February 24th.

Norcross native serves aboard Navy warship in San Diego 

SAN DIEGO – A Norcross, Georgia, native and 2014 Norcross High School graduate is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard USS Russell.

Petty Officer 2nd Class Imani Deloatch is an operations specialist aboard the guided-missile destroyer operating out of San Diego.

A Navy operations specialist is responsible for monitoring radar and detecting aircraft or small boats in the vicinity of the ship.
