Charitable Giving- Donator Beware

During the past few years, the Give Hunger the Boot program has helped raise over $350,000 in food and financial donations for the Southeast Gwinnett Food Co-Op. The donations have come from individuals, businesses, schools, and churches and demonstrate the willingness of people to help others. That willingness is the foundation upon which charity organizations are built. But not all charities are as “charitable” as they appear.

City of Norcross to Spread Holiday Cheer with Mayor’s Motorcade Charity

Donations requested for charity supporting local mental hospitals

Norcross  – The City of Norcross will be holding its annual giving campaign with the Mayor’s Motorcade and is asking for the community to help make the holiday season special for residents of the state’s mental health hospitals. Community members can join the giving campaign by asking their family, friends, and co-workers to join in the giving campaign as well.

Special Kneads and Treats Opens Doors at New Location

Special Kneads and Treats opened their doors at the new, larger facility in Lawrenceville on August 1, 2017. The bakery, previously located in a storefront space for three and one-half years on the Historic Lawrenceville Square, moved into an expansive 12,000-square-foot building located at 156 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046.

Bethany Baptist Church quilt donation

A few friends gathered around an old keepsake at Bethany Baptist Church the other day.  A touch of years gone by and recollections of baptisms and preachers and old friends was shared freely among the group as they looked at the quilt that was donated to the church in April of 2016.
