Gwinnett’s four-year graduation rate comes in at nearly 81%; rises to more than 84% when looking at five-year rate

On September 18, the Georgia Department of Education announced that Georgia’s graduation rate rose slightly to an all-time high in 2019, reaching 82%. Gwinnett County Public Schools experienced a slight decrease in its four-year graduation rate this year, moving from 81.7% to 80.9% and continued improvement in its five-year graduation rate as it reached 84.27%.

More than 500 GCPS retirees set to seek new horizons in 2019

As the 2018–19 school year comes to a close, 514 veteran educators and support staff members will mark their retirement from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). In total, our 2018–19 retirees have contributed a collective 12,399 years of their lives to education, and a total of 9,963 years to Gwinnett schoolchildren. In fact, 56.4% (289) of our retirees have worked their entire careers— in the classroom, office, cafeteria, bus, or shop— in this school system.

As the last bell rings for the 2017–18 school year, 522 veteran educators and support staff members will mark their retirement from Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). In total, our 2017–18 retirees have contributed a collective 12,813 years of their lives to education, and a total of 10,204 years to Gwinnett schoolchildren.
