There’s a special election under-way to decide how people in Gwinnett will get around and make connections in the future.
Gwinnett Transit is launching a pilot program on Sept. 17 that will provide six months of free door-to-door bus service in Snellville.
The on-demand service will use seven 12-passenger buses operating from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. The service is accessible to everyone and can be used for appointments, shopping, and visits, as well as to connect with GRTA buses going downtown.
With a population of 1.4 million people on the horizon, Gwinnett County Transit is conducting a top-to-bottom review of its current system and developing options to meet future transit needs.
