Mayor Johnson named ‘Volunteer of the Year’ by Georgia Recreation and Park Association
On October 16, 2018, Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson was named the State Volunteer of the Year by the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA).
On Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017, the Lawrenceville Police Department hosted the first in a series of quarterly public information forums designed to educate the public on the responsibilities of local law enforcement while strengthening community relations and continuing to bridge the gap between police officers and civilians.
The Cornett Hotel circa 1914 sits on the corner of Crogan and Perry Streets. It was also known as the Hotel Pharr and Button Gwinnett Hotel. Today, the corner has been remodeled, housing Dominick’s Italian restaurant.
Lawrenceville, Georgia, located approximately thirty miles east of the city of Atlanta, is the county seat of Gwinnett County. The municipality was named in honor of Captain James Lawrence, a naval officer during the War of 1812 who commanded the Chesapeake.
