Board of Commissioners Establishes Police Citizens Advisory Board

To strengthen relationships between the Gwinnett County Police Department and the community, the Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved the creation of a Citizens Advisory Board to offer input on issues like transparency, use of force, training and dealing with complaints.

Over 700 people, including Mayor Judy Johnson and Council Member Bob Clark, attended the Lawrenceville Police Department’s “Pizza with the Police” event held at the Lawrenceville Lawn on the evening of May 19, 2016. The community turn-out exceeded expectations and was deemed a huge success.

Citizen Police Academy begins in Duluth

Only a few spots remain! The City of Duluth Police Department is proud to announce the scheduling of a Citizen Police Academy. Citizens are invited to attend this free academy, which has been designed to introduce citizen to the various functions of police work. The department is now accepting applications. The thirty-hour course will begin on January 23 and end on May 24, 2014.
