School Board approves new principal and district-level leader
At its regular February business meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named Dr. Al Taylor as Interim Associate Superintendent of School Improvement and Operations.
At its regular February business meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named Dr. Al Taylor as Interim Associate Superintendent of School Improvement and Operations.
As part of a special called meeting that coincided with the public hearing on the millage rate, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named Melanie Lee, currently an assistant principal at Norton Elementary School, as the new principal of Norton and Rachel Ernst, an assistant principal at McConnell Middle School, as the principal of Starling Elementary School.
April 25, 2017 – At its April meeting, the Gwinnett County Board of Education named two principals for the coming school year. Shane Orr, an associate principal at Central Gwinnett High School, has been named the new principal at the Lawrenceville school following the retirement of the current principal, Maryanne Grimes. Kara Dutton, the principal of Peachtree Elementary School will transfer to become the principal of Jackson Elementary as the current principal, Dr. Ruth Markham, retires.
