Gwinnett County and the City of Lawrenceville received a $10,000 grant from Food Well Alliance for a new community garden at Rhodes Jordan Park to provide vegetables and greens to nearby residents who may not have access to nourishing food.
Organizers of Harvest Gwinnett, an initiative of Live Healthy Gwinnett, will host two public meetings in May at the Lawrenceville Senior Center to discuss and share ideas about the new Community Garden, which will be located at Rhodes Jordan Park.
The multi-purpose field at Rhodes Jordan Park in Lawrenceville will get a more durable, low-maintenance playing surface by next fall. Gwinnett commissioners awarded a field-conversion contract Tuesday to the low bidder, Precision Turf, LLC.
