Roy Hanna and Eric Bruce.

Uncle Roy

“Every so often I would wake up on the ground – passed out because of oxygen starvation caused by my collapsed lung,” recalls First Lieutenant Roy Hanna. It was February 1944, and the Allies were fighting the Germans in Italy during World War II.  Hanna was with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment having landed in Naples and involved in continuous fighting for several weeks.
