It was a dark and stormy night on the lonely, haunted cobblestone streets of Savannah. During the Revolutionary War, many soldiers on both sides of the battle were killed. The townspeople could not bury them fast enough.

Snellville police captain set to retire, given accolades

Snellville – City officials said “goodbye” to 16-year police department veteran Capt. Carey Roberts Monday.

Roberts will retire from active duty June 30 and move with his family to the Savannah area to begin a new chapter in their lives.

Barnes receives highest honor from Society for In Vitro Biology 

David Barnes, a professor of biology at Georgia Gwinnett College, received the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for In Vitro Biology (SIVB) at the 2014 World Forum on Biology, held recently in Savannah.
