The Snellville Lions Club brought smiles to the 3rd Graders at W.C. Britt Elementary School.  Through a program called The Dictionary Project, the Snellville Lions donated a Webster Student dictionary to every student in the 3rd grade classes at W.C. Britt.

Snellville – A tea and poetry event was hosted by Silverleaf of Snellville, a personal care home specializing in memory care and Horizons Healthcare, an adult and geriatric healthcare practice based in Snellville. Lally Gaidelman Cyr, who is originally from England, was the guest of honor at the affair where various members of the community read selections from her recently printed book, Lally’s Voice: The Collected Poems of Lally Gaidelman Cyr.

Georgia native Stan Deaton had no idea that as he grew up in Snellville, riding his bike through the woods, attending the First Baptist Church with his family, and creating life-long friends attending South Gwinnett High School, that he would later play a key role in teaching Georgia’s history.

My sister, Vada Timberlake, my wife, Jeannie, and I returned in late June from a week in South Korea .  We were there at the invitation of Sae Eden Presbyterian Church in Seoul, which is the largest congregation in Korea.

At the August meeting of the Downtown Development Authority, directors achieved the final step to approve construction of the first Primary Gateway monument.

Snellville – It’s called a Fun Run for a reason.

On Sept. 10, the Snellville Police Explorers Post 805 will host a 5K and Fun Run with the theme of “Super Mario Kart,” named after the popular video game.
