The Gwinnett Parks Foundation Gwinnett residents can give back to the community by helping with maintenance at Collins Hill Park on Park’Nership Work Day Aug. 17. They can then treat themselves to a free movie under the stars.
Lawrenceville – In celebration of National Volunteer Week, which is April 15 through April 21, the Department of Community Services honored more than 80 individuals and groups with the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award during a ceremony on April 19. Those who were recognized completed 4,000 or more volunteer service hours in their lifetime.
Lawrenceville – Pet owners in the Loganville area can bring their pets to Bay Creek Park pavilion on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for free rabies shots.
Since first taking office in 2011, I have made it a priority to find ways to involve a wide variety of Gwinnett residents in county government. It started out with a program called Volunteer Gwinnett that had a goal of engaging residents in meaningful way to help Gwinnett County provide essential services. Now we have a robust and growing community outreach program.
Established in 1985, Leadership Gwinnett has been the premier resource for developing community leaders in Gwinnett and the surrounding region. Nearly 1,000 influential leaders have graduated over the past 30 years and they are found in every corner of Gwinnett volunteering their time, talent and treasure to local causes.
