Tradition and experience continues in A & J Jewelers newest location

A&J Jewelers is a family with a long tradition in the jewelry business. Established in 1986 by Ashok and Jody Taank in Stone Mountain, they have grown with the community and established a sterling reputation in the industry.

Owner, Ashok Taank began his training in London where he earned his certification for watchmaking in 1978 from the British Horological Institute and his certification from The Gemmological Association of Great Britain in 1979. After much training and practice, Ashok and his wife Jody Taank decided to move to the U.S. in 1985.

In 1996, A&J Jewelers was first accredited by the American Gem Society. The American Gem Society, founded in 1934, is an organization of elite jewelers dedicated to consumer protection, ethical business practices and the development and maintenance of superior gemological skills and knowledge. One must undergo an annual re-certification exam and meet the specific requirements necessary to maintain an AGS membership. A&J Jewelers’  AGS membership guarantees the customer the authenticity they desire in today’s jewelry industry. For more about the American Gem Society, please visit www.americangemsociety.org.

In addition to having an AGS certified gemologist to conduct insurance apprai-sals, A&J Jewelers has a full-service watch and jewelry repair shop located on-site. They carry a wide selection of bridal, gemstone, diamond, gold and silver jewelry, pearls and watches to fit your personal style.

A&J Jewelers values and upholds family legacy with brands like Tacori and Simon G. Other top brands carried include Pandora, Lafonn, Artcarved and even exclusive lines and brands such as their Pink Diamond Collection and Hearts on Fire- the world’s most perfectly cut diamond. With various styles to fit the taste of every individual, A&J Jewelers takes their commitment to serving each customer’s needs one step further with an in-house custom design workshop.

The custom design process is simple and perfect for the customer looking to create a one of a kind piece of jewelry. First, the customer will meet with a member of the A&J Jewelers design team to discuss ideas and come up with a preliminary sketch which will then be translated into a Computer Aided Design (CAD). These CAD renderings are 2D images of the piece provided for the customer to see what their custom piece will look like so they can make any desired changes/alterations. Once the CAD is approved, a 3D wax mold of the piece is created and presented to the customer to view for the final opportunity to approve or alter the piece. Once these three stages are approved and meet the customer’s expectations and specifications, the final stage of the design process is then to cast the mold to create an authentic, one-of-a-kind piece.

A&J Jewelers is more than just a jewelry store, it is a company in its second generation of dedicating themselves to providing the consumer with education, quality and a personal experience. With the opening of the new store in Snellville, A&J Jewelers is taking the next step to enhance that experience. In addition to the expansion of all in-house services, bridal, fashion and fine jewelry lines, A&J Jewelers is creating an environment where the customers become guests and the staff becomes a trusted partner in providing education, skills and quality for their guests and community.

One of the ways A&J Jewelers shows their appreciation for its community is through the support of various charities such as the local churches, Gwinnett Medical Center, Schriners Hospital For Children, the ACS Hope Fashion Show and is a proud silver sponsor of the Path Project Gala, a community outreach program.

Located at 1575 Scenic Highway, the new A&J Jewelers store will have a soft opening in early September followed by a grand opening at a later date. For more about A&J Jewelers, please visit a-jonline.com, follow on Pinterest or like them on Facebook.
